March 30, 2005 - Week 80 - Uncouth Smoke-Swine & Other Domestic Terrorists

Under Tito's guidance, parttime Socialists from Asia and Africa disdained the arrogance of US & the USSR. Instead of following the corrupters of either world, Yugoslavia & India tried to build up a third party in world politics & became a powerful bloc within the United Nations until personal greed of tyrannical haters needed the material assistance of one of the 2 remaining superpowers.
Egypt's General Nasser chose the Soviet empire as his & his country's beneficiary & powerful supporter against peace - loving Israel. But in spite of Egypt's super-modern military equipment from Moscow, poor little Israel won easily over Arabic combines. Within a day, Israel had reconstructed captured planes, tanks & other materiel & delivered blueprints to US.
That trick & the meanness of Russian officers, engineers & commissars eventually made all Communists personae nongratae in Egypt. We quickly jumped into that vacuum & in no time became Egypt's allies, advisors & deliverers of lethal weaponry, even endangering the survival of the only Mid-East democracy.
We also donated surplus vehicles & foods en masse. Reagan labeled hundreds of millions worth of cigarettes as "provisions" & thereby made even pious Islamists chain smokers. In our times, China exports to us cheap junk by the hundred billions. China really doesn't even need our most advanced floppy disks but feels forced to accept in trade all tobacco products our "poor" tobacconist emperors can't sell elsewhere.
To be sure, our negative trade balance approaches a trillion dollars which helps to cripple our over-indebted economy. Do you think nothing could be worse than threatening bankruptcy? Just look at our beaches, sidewalks, gutters, parks, dirty ashtrays in filthy restaurants, bars & dirty homes. "Clean" gentlemen still own stock in our tobacco empires. Filthy pigs smoke their cigarettes over their coffee cups. Children have to breathe the stinking & virus - infested air at their homes. Good defenders of individual rights swear that they have the right to be pests & spreading every pestilence by means of their tobacco & smoke swallowing and spitting all out over residences, offices, sickrooms & swimming pools. Do you know any policeman, firefighter or soldier who doesn't smoke if told that nicotine relieves stress?
It's possible that the lighting of cigarettes, cigars or pipes while driving a fast vehicle has led to as many murders as the use of a cell phone or related mobilia. An NRA - recommended handgun, a drunk driver, a police officer in pursuit of a lousy suspect of thievery might not intend to commit more murders than the person with a stink stick from hand to mouth or vice versa.
What about the semen of a nicotine addict? Can he malform the brain, or at least, the general health of his off-spring as much as a pregnant smoker? And feeding a baby (by breast or spoon) as she attacks the innocent with smoke, nicotine, virus & all that destroys young life's survival values?
Smoking scoundrels have caused fires in beds, in homes, in hotels, in barns or prairie fires & forest firing. They have exploded service stations, weapon depots, warehouses & government war materiel. They have set their clothes on fire which burned them & their neighborhood to death. Smokers alone have caused more innocent victims than our worst enemy-terrorists ever can. But that is only a small bill of crimes to humanity.
Suicide bombers keep causing us grievous losses in lives & property. But our smoking fiends are much below the level of such untutored hate mongers & hate assassins. You may think that steady smokers have the right to ruin their health. But who suffers the most if they cough, spit & catch a thousand germs which they share with fellow-workers, friends & all members of the family? If their hearts, lungs & blood circulation cause permanent suffering, the caretakers suffer with them. They ruin their families, their jobs & everyone's survivability.
More than all these, they destroy our health delivery system. They drive up health insurance rates, destroy Medicare & Medicaid & make medical insurance inflationary along with costs for physicians, hospitals & all prepaid insurance. In other words, smokers are dangerous enemies of our civilization, our society and our nation, as much risk - spreaders as alcoholics, drug addicts & gun-toters. Combined, these terrorists are happy assassins of humanity & all which true religion should stand for. Or is this opinionated condemnation just a pious dogma of a clean fanatic? Should we pity them when they asphyxiate themselves to suffocate without breathing & get choked to die most cruelly, drowning in their own phlegm & spittle?
