WEEKLY WARNING WORDS
November 5, 2003 - WEEK 7 - The Eleventh Commandment
BY DR. BRUNO J. KEITH
After we get fast and furiously out of the deathtraps of Iraq and Afghanistan, we must - we must - also get as fast as possible out of all other Muslim countries. Leave no weapons behind; schools yes, dangerous toys, never again!
No more propping up of terrorist oil princes or terrorist anti-government mobs of piety! Advise our industrialists, economists, teachers and nurses to come home and save us from replacement nurses and other half-trained substitutes from developing countries.
Strengthen our oil contracts with neighborly Mexico, Venezuela, even Colombia, and, especially, with Russia. Force the treasonous Cheney-Halliburton "Ayrabs" and the Schultz-Weinberger-Bechtel profiteers to forego their robbery - like over-charges. It would be con-venient for governor-elect Schwarzenegger to force at least a billion-dollar refund from our Enron crooks.
Use the thusly freed billions to sponsor ever more renewable energy - 100 million more solar and wind motors (cells) in nicely organized soldierly lineup each year, so that nature and our eyes get used to ever more forests of beneficial little power plants - expensively constructed but soon to deliver almost costfree power.
Construct a thousand more of the biggest electro-turbines at existing power dams with little negative effects. One year of such additions begins to make us already nearly independent of Arab terrorism and completely so through a couple of additional self-conscious constructive policies.
Such labors of self-love begin to create more jobs than we need, especially if we combine them with urgently needed repair of our crumbling infrastructure along with our neglected public education, our health delivery system, our social services and our social security. We could then take care of ourselves without interfering with other sovereign nations.
Once we have abundant, low-price electricity, big cities can get rid of the polluting stink by constructing cross-town electric train networks. Each station should have huge parking areas - if possible underground - with hundreds of power outlets. While cars are parked there, electric batteries should be recharged at no cost in order to make the purchase of more expensive electro-automobiles affordable.
Offer 5 billion dollars to any inventor who discovers an easy electrolytic method to split H2O into oxygen and hydrogen, so we can use the watertank as the direct source of hydrogen fuel. What platinum achieves so expensively on a small scale, should be trumped by more effective alloys of mineral compounds - if the reward is most challenging.
Indeed, before we play the "democratic" interference game world-wide, we must heal our own corrupt hearts and bodies.
