November 10, 2004 - Week 60 - Why Johnny Can't Read.

One John's concession in the wee hours of November 3, (the winner to take all) proved to this literate what he has known for ages: the reason & cause for too many of our kids' disability at reading, reasoning & writing is the consequence of their parents' not caring enough, not reading themselves well or not at all. We blame the criminal behavior of smoking, alcoholic & drug-addicted T.V. addicts as they sit-out their unmanageable pregnancy to bring forth unbearable crack & A.I.D.S. babes too incapacitated for normal existence.
Things would be less catastrophic if fathers would "mother" their one-time partners, or any caring relatives could volunteer parenting. It doesn't take a village but a few good guides & humanitarians to set more parents on the right path of moral obligations. A decent & charitable attitude of our government & well-paying jobs with social, economic & medical actions of responsibility must create more security & happiness which would help to keep US on a straighter & narrower trail of ethical behavior.
Lately, some of my friends concluded that politicians set a worse example of not reading &, thereby, spread that bad habit to their voters & their off-spring if not to their own clever brood. Believe it or not, they assert that the two Joes could have qualified for the White House seat of imperial power if they had been sufficiently literate to study the political boardgame of August 4, 2004, on my Internet page #46,

They could have edited it, infused some biting humor & produced hundred million of those as early holiday gifts. Their cohorts of Democrats across our Nation, Labor Unions & amused friends & neighbors would have sold them at a good price & earned at least 100 million dollars net for their campaign funds & in support of swinging swing voters.
Even incompetent electioneers could have won an easy victory by using this gadget as the foremost point of light in the cruel shadow of harsh facts of life, mounting insecurity for US & all the world & the rapid transfer of our national wealth into the pockets of a handful of the most evil & inhuman monsters who control our society, our economy, our culture & certainly our elections.
A week before that potent August 4, I began to bombard the liberal forces, the Democratic organizations & their leadership with my résumée of this powerful political boardgame & continued repeating this for 3 months. I am sure that not even one of those bloody idiots, illiterates & functional non-readers bothered to peruse those few fateful lines which were supposed to lead these stray non-souls to the game of the year - if they had "obeyed" an old teacher.
How do I know? Most of the targeted Führers came back 5, 6 & even 7 more times to beg for charity. Some morons even asked for a 37¢-stamp to put off any of US nonagenarians. Those incompetents kept begging for cash gifts rather than reading how to be cleverer than that & produce & distribute to their underlings for sale millions of a now famous political boardgame in order to prosper, to wage a better election campaign & win the presidency & more plaguers in both Houses. Now they have forfeited their chance for greater happiness of the greatest number.
