If Heaven or Paradise was to be the reversal of poverty, powerlessness & a wretched life, the promise of a heavenly island of perpetual bliss could make the most miserable conditions throughout life bearable. Or could such pious justification of a life of slavery backfire?
During "the good old time" of British hegemony, the clever boys of Oxford were fond of using Irish, Islamic & Hindu clerics to safeguard their rule. Most representatives of distinguished families loved to use religious terminology to ensure their secular governance without always using military violence for solving unsolvable political, ethnic & economic problems.
The present-day reawakening of the most obtuse & cruel crusading spirit in the cleric & clerically-brainwashed class loves to use obscenely-pornographic & violent militaristic "patriotism" to achieve political ends. How deep the mighty have sunk! What the Gray Ham Billy started so gloriously 2 generations ago, was murderously applied by the Right-to-Life assassins but soon completely monopolized most terroristically by Muslim mullahs, imams, ayatollahs, & muftis. Now pious loudmouths happily control most private & social, economic, educational & political concerns & in the process enslave women, children, the weak & powerless from birth of their semen to the grave of humanity.
This "KulturKampf" bloodies the lives of the innocents by sacrificing the hearts & souls of the better selves. The masters of nations seem all too eager to use "Blood & Iron" in order to bring about the Germanic götterdämmerung & John of Patmos Armageddon which Jesus & his Paulus hoped for in their days, nearly 2 millenia ago.
The famous fatalists of all religions dedicated their lives to the foresight, insight & injustice of a mean divinity whom they empowered with the sword of the Accuser, Judge and Executioner. Without character is their assumption of "grace" which their God grants to some but denies to others. Such faith condemns the good works of the best but lauds the belief of evil-doers in the man upstairs. Our tyrants make their god the supreme tyrant. How demeaning to a true religion & how anti-education, social conscience, good science and logic!
Actually, such belief system is inimical to life, to humanity & good sense. Outright criminal is the absurdity of laying Eva's sin of eating the apple which didn't grow in that part of the Near East on every innocent baby. It belies the Bible which insists that children are not to be punished for crimes of the parent generation. Selling indulgences to good Catholics, made better Protestants until Martin Luther decided that the worst criminal might continue his crime spree if he acknowledges Jesus before his end.
All 4 gospels mention many times that their Christ did all he did to fulfill what Jewish prophets predicted for their people. So he was a good actor who had memorized His Script. Why does a pornographic & bloody movie-er complain about the crucifixion which the Christ wanted? No Christianity without that Roman way of killing suspects of competition with their rule. And where are the contemporary witnesses of that cruel hoax? No Jewish, Syrian, Arabic & Roman sources can be quoted. Still, people believe what they want to believe or what was infused in them since their earliest youth. Nobody minds that or "minds" them. In fact, there are too many hard-headed children who can only be tamed by the threat with a bogieman, a devil or god to enforce acceptable behavior. Especially, as long as born-again religionists enforce the bringing to term the also-sick fetus of an unworthy, unable, sick or sickening abused & abusing "mother", our world of terror and lacklove cannot be remedied at all. Violent means beget violent victims and new victimizers, & humanism keeps getting aborted.
