March 17, 2004 - Week 26 - Jews Everywhere

Since Christianity became the Roman Empire's state religion, the descendants of Jesus's family were declared public enemies and subjected to severe restrictions, to universal harassment and cruel persecution. This exclusion from a "religion of love" also was from all professions and trades, from common rights and the protection against terroristic lords by the church. Since Arianism was also condemned as a heresy, the Lombards were no longer permitted to lend money at high interest. A few select Jews were given this official duty by a licence of a highly-placed dignitary and occasional protector. All other Jews were restricted to the Book and supposedly supported by this Publican.
Only Baptism opened a few poor portals to the smartest among the latter. No surprise that the self-hatred of such neo-Christians made some as hate-filled as Saul-Paul, Peter-Simon, Pfefferkorn, Grand Inquisitor Torquemada and quite a few left party goers of our time from Noam Chomsky to the most successful reporters.
Napoleon's command to equalize all citizens under his heel still left a few Jews as the leaders in finance. Some of these used their intelligence to found retail shops. They were the first to offer fixed prices for the protection of their poorest customers. They allowed their children to inhale a sense of equality, a dedication to hard work, to eager studies and the ambition to excel. For a few generations results appeared to be quite positive but not yet convincingly successful. As soon as glaring jealousies seemed overwhelming, anxious young Jews turned inward. However, a majority of Jewish students felt driven by their Mothers' prayers to apply all their energies, their love of books and their potential genius to grow into some of the best and greatest which their tuition and diligence could buy.
A century ago, the unmuzzled jealousy of Jew baiters began to become aroused by the vast numbers of Jewish teachers, university professors, the too many great scientists, practitioners of medicine and medical research, psychologists, psycho-pathologists, economists, inventors and in all departments of engineering with their ever increasing intention to overachieve to their max. Since fairly recent years, everyone became aware that in every respectable occupation brilliant Jewish leadership could challenge everyone else to be good, great and successful if they were fair and just.
But the preaching of dogmatic, old-fashioned monopolists, became angry when young Jews were discovered among the greatest boxers, wrestlers, general athlets, ball players (soccer, volleyball, baseball), swimmers, gymnasts, ice skaters, fencers, horsemen, pistol shots, airplane pilots, soldiers a.s.o. That was intolerable to the slanderers who wanted to curse them as financiers, shop keepers, lords of the press and such institutions they love to hate.
For baseball fans it was unbearable that there were nearly 150 Jewish stars in the major league. They had dreamed that their favorite game was "Juden-rein" until Sandy Koufax and a dozen others refused to play ball on Jom Kippur, the most solemn Jewish holiday. When Spitzer won a record number of Olympic gold medals as a swimmer, he was subjected to a few threats to his life. The Olympics continued "as usual" in spite of Arab assassinations at München of Israeli wrestlers. Had hateful but ignorant Arab murderers been aware of the numerous Jewish competitors from many countries, and the large number of outstanding Jewish coaches, more good blood might have been shed by bad-blood religionists.
Hitler personally allowed the 17-year old Helene Meyer to represent him as a fencing master because she looked more German than any other. He was unhappy that she only won silver while the gold went to Preiss, a Hungarian Jew. The Jewish Pole, Kantor, won the men's gold. Too late had the super-hater discovered that his organizer Lewald, was a well-liked German-Jewish sports person. He didn't dare demote him during his Olympic Riefenstahl show. But when all was over, Lewald was ordered to commit suicide.
The best female basketball star ever with a most challenging Jewish name was never attacked while she played on the team of the famous Harlem Globetrotters. Only when she shacked up with a female tennis great, she was condemned to vanish from the public scene. The little gymnast who helped her team to win Olympic gold in spite of her sprained ankle, became our national pride. Only when she became also an excellent student at Stanford in spite of that university's anti-Semitic powerhouse, she was belittled for her super-efforts at the games. Most recently, Lee Korsitz won her gold medal during the World Mistral Championship at Cádiz, Spain. She was the pride of Israel as the youngest competitor on this highest level.
The case of Jael Krukower is somewhat complicated. She was born in Argentina and left many good friends behind when her family moved to Israel. While she served in Israel's army, her community center in Buenos Aires was bombed out by murderous Arabs whose assassination of some 80 "only Jews" was not prosecuted by the government. She returned to her birthplace, was admitted to a non-Jewish gymnasium and learned to excel at judo. In Osaka, Japan, she won the judo world championship for Israel and Argentina which allowed the country of her birth to go belatedly after the Arabic massmurdering terrorists.
Who dares say - except Arabs and neo-Nazi's - that Jews are only interested in controlling computer markets, everyone's economy, journalism and politics, the news and film industry beside being the foremost violinists, pianists, composers, conductors, actors, directors and publishers? But all those geniuses feel the stirred-up hatred breezing down their neck, especially if one of them dares to justify the existence of Israel in unfriendly neighborhood. There was never any other Palestinian nation even while Mohammed's warriors conquered 22 Arab states and too many more Islamic countries.
Why condemn great achievers and most creative Israelis to damnation and perdition? Why not admire them as the "light unto the nations", the bringers of culture and civilization? Let the world of good people learn from those who really crown the love of learning as the only true deliverer from sin, crime, hate and destruction. The embracing of Israel as a Jewish state would bring forth peace, cooperation and the diminishing of destructive hatred. Or are you the neo-Fascist who condemns Jews for being in the forefront of combat against discrimination, racism, enslavement and enforced poverty? Must you continue ancient slanders of the rogues of all nations? Let us be fair and just: Opportunities for all and jobs for those who wish to work.
