Weekly Warning Words

     Compare present enormously huge robberies by good-name scoundrels of our ruling clique with the misdeeds of Boss Tweed a century and a half ago. Mind you that history was largely written by the friends of Tilden who was dreaming about the U.S. presidency when he cleaned house in N.Y., City and state. Yet, records also reveal WASP sting operations against the Irish who had begun to inundate our North-East to escape from potato crop failures.

     So-called historians and professional maligners were quick to accuse and condemn the most charitable activities of Tammany Hall and its ever-active leader "Boss" Tweed. All good WASPs resented this self-help for hundred thousands of desperate fugitives from Ireland's famine.

     "No Irish may apply (for a job)", "Iremen unwanted" and dozens of similar un-welcome signs greeted the hungry newcomers and also the next generation of unemployed, hungry and wretched laborers. Could a man with a heart allow the religious and social discrimination of his landsmen? Even if Boss Tweed used public funds freely over many years to hold off the starvation of so many, even if he used illegal seizure of what was not his to give; even if he employed and paid his people to help him get elected and reelected and made some newly arrived immigrants immediate citizens and voters, his charitable heart and good soul should have been considered a most mitigating circumstance. He did not deserve to be hated eternally & to end his life in prison. WASP power forced even Tammany Hall appointed judges and juries to mete out harsh sentences against disadvantaged Irish newcomers, their children and grandchildren.

     We cannot find any mitigating appeal in the present-days whole-sale robberies by the richest and most privileged scum, mostly the society of millionaire-billionaires around the President and his vice. When the "cream" of that clique keeps voting itself hundreds of billions in secret and uses insider knowledge and fraudulent bookkeeping to defraud their employees, pensioneers and shareholders by advising (really forcing them) to hold on to watered-down stock while they make quick sales of theirs and also thus deceive pension funds of their own people and trusting states' retirement treasures, courts do not need other evidence to give the scoundrels life sentences.

     All who bought Bush-Cheney and their allies in Congress their offices are culprits by billions of dollars of shameless machinatious. There are countries where they would be court martialed and shot. Yet, in our devastated economy they rule "our" Administration, both houses, the Supreme Court and much of the entire Judiciary. They will not impeach themselves even after they destroyed our foremost state, California, by Enroning it. How honest is the rest of the country if they don't vote their anger, desperation and heartfelt sincerity next year in November? "Throw the rascals out," is an old and sanctified election slogan.
